Apple’s App Store, Google’s Play and Web Store, and now Facebook is all set to launch its own App Center – a place for more than 900 million Facebook apps to be used on the web, iOS, Android or mobile web versions. Aaron Brady released this information on Facebook Developer Blog earlier today.
The App Center will be an exciting new feature on Facebook owing to the increased popularity of Facebook apps worldwide. There will be a detailed description page. Users can directly access apps on their mobile devices from the Facebook App Center, review or rate apps, and learn about an app before using it. Additionally, if the app requires installation on the user’s device, they will be redirected to App Store or Google Play to complete the download.
Note to the App Developers
However, apps will be enlisted on Facebook’s App Center depending on various factors. Developers are to be aware of these factors and follow the guidelines to make their apps available. Every app should have a detailed App Page describing it. Users opinion and app quality is also a factor to determine whether an App is displayed in App Center or not. The app also needs to use Facebook login in order to include it in Facebook’s App Center. In addition there will also be provisions to add paid apps by developers.
Facebook has urged developers to submit their apps following the app guidelines as soon as possible. Apps submitted before May 18 will get a higher preference than apps submitted later. In short, The Facebook App Center is coming soon to Facebook!
